The team...
The Built and Natural Environment Team is a multi-disciplinary team packed with professional officers providing advice on Urban Design, Ecology, Trees, Drainage, Heritage, Contaminated Land, and Transport.
About the role...
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the team. You will be involved in a range of work streams, providing specialist transport and highways advice on major projects and other planning applications within the Urban Core and across the Borough.
You will also be required to provide advice on the transport elements of major planning applications including pre-application advice, appraisal of transport assessments, and travel plans.
The job requires knowledge of transport policy and the transport development management process, education to degree level (or relevant equivalent), and experience in a transport strategy/transport policy environment.
Knowledge of the planning process generally, Local Government procedures, and transport legislation and practice, as well as experience of mentoring and leading a team would be an advantage.
You will have a strong customer focus and commitment to continuous improvement and evidence of continuing professional development.
You will be competent in using relevant IT systems such as Microsoft Office and GIS products and have a full driving licence.
The post is offered on a full-time basis, but flexible working arrangements can be discussed. Hybrid working is offered, but site visits in the borough will be required, and a presence in the office is expected on a minimum of two days per week.
