Offering a 35-hour work week, hybrid working, and a range of further benefits, this opportunity would suit an eager finance professional, looking to take the next step within their career in finance while working in a collaborative and supportive environment An established, award-winning and rapidly growing NFP, based in Cambridge, are on the lookout for an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis Providing support to both the Group Financial Controller and Financial Controller, you will contribute to the smooth running of the day-to-day activities of the finance department. You'll be responsible for ensuring the group month-end procedures are completed on time and will support the financial controllers by preparing relevant management information. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, your duties would include: • Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations. • Prepare monthly cashflow and monitor cash requirements. • Maintain schedules for accruals and prepayments and prepare the relevant month end journals. • Maintain the fixed asset registers, ensuring these reconcile to the trial balance. • Prepare month end management accounts for 4 entities, including forecasting and variance analysis • Assist with quarterly group management accounts. • Prepare the weekly financial and performance reports. • Provide support to the accounts assistants by serving as the primary point of contact for queries, and ensuring timely completion of month end tasks. • Prepare the monthly pension submission. • Prepare the monthly salary allocations schedule and supporting invoices. • Assist with annual budget preparation. • Assist with year-end audit. • Assist with the preparation of the financial statements. • Prepare the fortnightly payment run and set up one off payments. • Track relevant bond payments, including raising invoices and making the required payments. • Prepare relevant documentation for outgoing interest payments and proactively ensure payment deadlines are met. • Prepare monthly commission statement reconciliations and relevant journals. • Provide ad hoc support, analysis etc. to the Group CFO and Deputy CFO, as required.
