Description Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Quality Inspector (contract) to work as part of an IPMT team on our clients exciting energy transition project. The role will ideally be based at our clients office in London with regular travel to manufacturing facilities across the UK and Europe. Working as part of Line pipe Package delivery team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all specified quality and technical requirements are fulfilled during manufacturing, testing, handover and delivery stages for Plate, LSAW pipes, Induction Bends and Coating applications, at various suppliers’ manufacturing locations. You will be responsible for deploying competent Inspection Resources (via TPI Contract) in accordance with manufacturing schedule and approved ITPs. You will also be responsible for implementing a risk-based Quality Oversight Plan at all key manufacturing locations to underpin ‘Right First-Time’ delivery of Line pipe package. Following the successful delivery of the line pipe and bends scope, this role may transition into the quality engineer role covering the offshore pipelay scope. Responsibilities Review and approve pipe package Quality Plans, suppliers’ ITPs and other key supporting documents Participate in suppliers Readiness Reviews, Pre-Production Meetings (PPMs), Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIMs) and ensure all required Quality deliverables in place prior to production Develop a fit for purpose ‘Quality Inspection and Oversight Plan’ and ensure all key requirements are circulated & implemented during manufacture Deploy competent Quality Resources at key manufacturing locations – Coordinate inspection teams, document control and all aspects of logistics and production tracking Participate in key meetings for pipe package - both internal and external (with suppliers) - be ready to discuss Quality Issues, trends, and highlight performance KPIs and seek leadership support as required Perform regular site visits to key manufacturing locations and ensure compliance to specified Quality requirements Review Inspection & test reports, production reports and statistical data / performance KPIs to ensure compliance to technical requirements Ensure IRN (Inspection Release Notification) is processed, post final inspection, to support release & load-out activities Review and approve MRBs and certification packs to confirm compliance with technical requirements Qualifications Demonstratable experience of managing Quality Inspection and Oversight Program of pipe packages including LSAW Pipes, Induction Bends and Coating applications Expertise in LSAW Pipe (X65) Forming Processes (UOE & JCOE) Pipe Welding/ MPQT, Mech Testing, Welder's qualification, NDE techniques (manual UT & AUT), Dimensional checks, Final Inspection and equipment release Expertise in Manufacturing quality control of Induction Bends - electric induction bending process and associated qualification and inspection requirements Expertise in application, qualification, Inspection & testing of Coating Systems i.e. 3LPP, 3LPE, CWC, FBE ICorr / NACE Level II– Protective Coating Expertise in Welding Inspection and NDE techniques i.e. CSWIP (TWI, UK) - Welding inspector, PCN Level II OR equivalent, NDT Level II RT, UT, MPI, DPT (ASNT/CSWIP/PCN or client approved alternative NDT standard)
