Key Tasks: To implement policies and propose changes to policy, practice, and service development, addressing areas of need respectively by proposing and implementing policy changes that may impact both within and beyond the area served by the team/service. To lead, facilitate and participate in discussion on bereavement and psychological aspects of palliative care across the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). To provide support for colleagues within the MDT, participating in clinical supervision and reflective practice. To provide highly specialised psychological assessments based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of highly complex psychological data from a variety of sources including psychological (and neuropsychological tests where appropriate), self report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with patients, family members and others involved in the patients care. To develop psychological formulations of presenting problems or situations that integrate information from assessments within a coherent framework that draws upon psychological theory and evidence, which incorporates interpersonal, societal, cultural and biological factors. To provide clinical placements for Trainee Clinical Psychologists, ensuring that trainees acquire the necessary skills, competencies, and experience to contribute effectively to good mental health care and to contribute to the assessment and evaluation of such competencies.
