Overview
It’s often overwhelming for the people we support to make changes in their lives. You can help by donating your time as a volunteer mentor.
Responsibilities
This role would be based in any of our 4 projects (Hatfield, Hertford, Stevenage, Watford) across the county - whichever would be best suited for you.
In this role, you will be supporting the people who use our services by offering them support within our projects or within the community.
Whether you’re talking about goals in groups or helping someone with a referral in one of our projects, no two sessions will be the same. We treat everyone as individuals, so being flexible, curious, and a good listener are key.
Helping people to take that next step can be a challenge, so in return for your time, we will offer you comprehensive training and ensure that you have someone at the other end of the phone for day-to-day advice and guidance. We will also make sure you have a named supervisor, who you will meet up with regularly.
By volunteering with us, you will gain valuable experience and skills, as well as making a real difference.
This is what one of our Volunteer Mentors had to say: “I like the team spirit, that we all bring something different and we always put the people who use our service first.”
Our values are to be compassionate, open, and bold. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you, so click apply.
