Site Engineer Social Housing Project Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (Dependent on experience) Client Overview: Our client, a reputable and well-established main contractor based in Belfast, is seeking a skilled and proactive Site Engineer to join their team on a high-profile social housing project in the area. The project is a significant development aimed at providing quality, affordable homes, and the successful candidate will be a key player in ensuring its timely and efficient completion. Key Responsibilities: Site Setup and Supervision: Oversee and manage site activities, ensuring compliance with project plans and schedules. You will be responsible for monitoring daily site operations, ensuring the health and safety of all workers, and maintaining quality standards. Technical Support: Provide engineering support to the site team, ensuring that all technical aspects of the project are executed in line with the design and specifications. Liaise with the project manager, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure technical issues are resolved efficiently. Setting Out: Carry out setting out and surveying duties, ensuring accurate levels and measurements are in place for all construction works. Ensure the correct placement of foundations, superstructure, and utilities. Quality Control: Monitor and verify construction work quality against drawings, specifications, and regulatory standards. Ensure that all materials used meet the required standards and specifications. Health and Safety: Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on site. Report any hazards, incidents, or non-compliance issues to the site management team. Progress Reporting: Track and report on construction progress and any delays or potential issues to the site manager. Participate in regular site meetings and provide engineering insight. Coordination of Subcontractors: Assist in the management of subcontractors on site, ensuring their work is completed on schedule and to the expected standards. Document Control: Maintain accurate records, including site diaries, inspection reports, and drawings, ensuring all documentation is up to date and compliant with company standards. Essential Requirements: Qualifications: Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related field. Relevant CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card. Experience: Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within the construction industry, preferably on residential or social housing projects. A solid understanding of engineering principles and experience with setting out techniques. Familiarity with modern construction methods and materials, particularly in the context of social housing.
