Support Worker - Queens Road, Plymouth
The DOVE Project are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and flexible individual to join our team of Support Workers.
We are a leading and innovative organisation offering a range of personalised outcome based care and support packages throughout Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall.
We are currently looking for motivated and enthusiastic support workers to join our team to support people in their homes and out in the community.
You will be working alone and as part of a team supporting people with various needs, such as Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Acquired Brain Injury and Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
You will have a person-centred approach to supporting people with their day-to-day living in order to provide a caring, safe and effective service that is responsive to the needs of the people we support. This will include providing support with household tasks, meal planning and preparation, maintaining relationships with their family and friends and with accessing the community.
Being a driver is preferred but not essential. If you are a driver, you must have a full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and have business insurance in place.

Support Worker - Queens Road, Plymouth
£12.71 per hour
(Sleep in nights are paid at a rate of £70.47)
Part Time and Full Time Positions available. This will include weekend, evening and overnight shifts.
Additional hours are also available to cover annual leave, training and sickness as required.

The Role
We are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to lead as ordinary life as they can achieve. To help them achieve this you will need to be flexible as you are required to work shifts including bank holidays, weekends and potential sleep ins.

Main duties and responsibilities
To participate in the day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment. To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality. To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events. To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required. To work as part of a team to provide high quality care.
Personal Characteristics:
Diploma in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards one. Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues. The ability to keep calm under pressure. The confidence to work alone or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills The passion to work with vulnerable adults The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
