Our Renewable Energy Business Unit has the need for a Production Manager on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Edenderry and will report to the Thermal Plant Manager. The role will be responsible for managing the Operations function of Edenderry/Cushaling generation assets in accordance with owner and customer needs, ensuring environmental and health and safety compliance whilst maximising plant performance.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
1. Management of Renewable Energy portfolio of generating assets to achieve and maximise plant availability and efficiency while achieving Bord Na Mona’s and government renewable targets;
2. Manage and lead the operations of the power plant ensuring alignment with the Maintenance teams according to the customer’s instructions, ensuring that defined targets are achieved, and the works are carried out safely, economically and within environmental and other design limits of the Plant. When required, carry out the role of Windfarms Operational controller, including operations planning and reporting, materials logistics, and management;
3. Responsible for ensuring that material management, alongside purchasing and contract management, meets the company standards and supports all operations within the agreed budget. Liaise with compliance and Trading functions to ensure the most financially beneficial position for the assets while maintaining all necessary compliance;
4. Play a key role in the implementation of the Renewable Energy Business Management System, including co-ordinating interfaces with customers, partners, regulatory authorities, and accreditation bodies while being responsible for meeting challenging commercial, safety, environmental, and quality targets;
5. Proactively participate as a member of the operations management team. Develop and implement a resource plan for the operations team to 2030 and beyond. Develop a succession plan for the operations team and ensure associated people development plans are implemented. Lead the engagement planning process for the operations function ensuring an action plan is developed in conjunction with the team and implemented;
6. All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring health and safety and welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises;
7. Lead and performance manage your direct report(s). Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own and the wider team’s objectives;
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, knowledge, and attributes:
1. BSc in Engineering or equivalent in a related technical discipline;
2. 10 years plus experience in a similar role;
3. Experience in Steam Boiler and Steam Turbine plant;
