We are now recruiting a multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join the engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident engineer who is unafraid to challenge decisions and capable of working both as part of a team and on their own to join one of the manufacturing sector’s most exciting and progressive companies.
What is the role?
Based at one of our South Yorkshire sites and reporting to the engineering site leader, your main tasks will be the repair and planned maintenance of our automated equipment and continuous improvement. Some development engineering work may also be available to an appropriately qualified candidate.
You will be expected to travel between all six Gripple Ltd manufacturing sites, four of which are in the Lower Don Valley area of Sheffield, so you will need to be in possession of a full UK/EU driving licence. The position will entail working regular mornings and afternoons Monday to Friday, as well as night shifts and weekend work to meet the demands of the business. A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude is therefore paramount.
Who you are
The ideal candidate should ideally be apprentice trained with experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You must be extremely team oriented, and IT literate with excellent communication skills. You should be mechanically biased, but with some electrical ability and experience. You should also have knowledge of some, if not all of the following:
1. pneumatics
2. hydraulics
3. bench fitting
4. milling
5. turning
6. PPM (planned preventive maintenance)
7. electrical fault finding
Experience of the following, whilst not essential, would be a distinct advantage:
8. Roll forming
9. Sheet metal forming (Trumpf)
10. Robotics (ABB, Kawasaki or Omron
11. PLC programming/interrogation
