An exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Nurse has arisen on our 24-bed respiratory ward. A 12 Month Fixed Term contract for maternity leave cover from June 2025 to June 2026. A standard ward working rota of days, nights and weekends will be necessary and school hours cannot be accommodated. The post holder must be registered with NMC UK.
We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse who can work dynamically and at a fast pace to ensure safe and effective care delivery. As a member of our team, you will work closely with patients, their families, and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that high-quality care is delivered and a positive experience for those in our care.
The post is open to both junior nurses or experienced nurses who wish to learn more skills in respiratory care and gain a feel for respiratory medicine while supporting our ward in maternity leave cover. There will be opportunities to develop skills in tracheostomy care, non-invasive ventilation (NIV), high flow oxygen (AIRVO), and chest drain care, as well as skills such as ABG sampling and interpretation, CVC line care, NG tube insertion, and blood culture sampling. We pride ourselves on ensuring we are a highly skilled and competent team.
You will work with highly skilled respiratory ward nurses, respiratory specialist nurses, respiratory physicians, and critical care outreach, together delivering a high standard of care to the respiratory patient. A full orientation package will be offered, and you will be fully supported by the ward management team to ensure you thrive and flourish in your new environment.
