We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to play a pivotal role in the assurance and enhancement of quality standards across cutting-edge scientific and engineering programmes. You'll be working closely with leadership and project delivery teams, influencing quality culture and supporting innovation in a fast-evolving technological landscape.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
* Own and lead quality assurance and control activities across an operational area.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and share lessons learned across teams.
* Manage and resolve deviations, non-conformances, and quality-related issues.
* Lead root cause investigations and corrective action processes.
* Support quality management throughout the project delivery lifecycle.
* Ensure supplier quality requirements are clearly defined and met.
* Assist with FMEA development, control plans, and inspection/test planning.
* Conduct on-site and supplier surveillance inspections.
* Develop and report on quality performance metrics.
* Deliver quality-related training to internal stakeholders.
🎓 Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent in an engineering or science discipline.
* Membership of the Chartered Quality Institute (or similar) preferred.
🧠 Experience & Skills:
* 5+ years in a quality assurance role within industrial, engineering, or laboratory environments.
* Strong working knowledge of ISO9001 and QA/QC practices.
* Familiarity with industrial codes, standards, and quality documentation.
* Experience supporting product development and managing QA through full project lifecycles.
* Understanding of Lifetime Quality Records and QA grading processes.
* Proficiency in quality tools such as A3, DMAIC, and value stream mapping.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Pragmatic, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused mindset.
* 1st or 2nd party auditing experience is desirable.
