Role Purpose The Finance Business Partner (maternity cover) will provide financial support and insight to the Policy, Strategy, and Economics Practice, working closely with senior finance management and operational teams to enable effective financial management and support business growth. Key Responsibilities • Act as a Business Partner to practice management, providing first-line finance support, insight, and direction. • Lead the delivery of P&L and Working Capital objectives, supporting management accounting processes. • Review project performance, forecast costs to completion, and conduct variance analysis for key financial metrics. • Provide insight, support, and constructive challenge in Project Financial Performance Reviews. • Support monthly performance reviews, budgeting, and forecasting processes, consolidating and analysing results. • Deliver high-quality financial analysis and respond to management queries. • Provide financial support for tenders and bids. • Complete Monthly Management Accounts for the Business Unit. • Liaise with legal, sales, and central teams, supporting audit processes as required. • Assist Business Managers in commercial modelling for large proposals. • Support Practice Directors and Business Managers by preparing financial reports and analysis. Key Competencies and Experience • CIMA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified (close to completion). • Relevant financial and commercial experience. • Strong Excel skills. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
