Role - Obstetrician and Gynaecologist consultant
Location - Wollongong
Wollongong is a coastal city in Australia, south of Sydney along the Grand Pacific Drive. Surfing beaches and rock pools line the coastline. Trails encircle the forests and rocky cliffs of Mt. Keira in the Illawarra Mountain range, which frames the city. To the north, hang gliders launch from Bald Hill. South lie the Buddhist temple of Nan Tien and Lake Illawarra, a large lagoon with boating and fishing facilities.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) Service within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist is responsible for the provision of specialist services to emergency patients, inpatients and outpatients at the relevant Hospital. The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will ensure provision of high quality O&G services to all patients within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will proactively:
* Support the development of O&G services
* Support and facilitate a culture of learning and best practice
* Support and develop O&G research within the department
SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
