Provision of highly specialist music therapy assessment, intervention and recommendations for people with a learning disability referred to ABUHB LD Arts Therapies service. The post holder; Will be expected to provide a service which will improve and maintain the emotional and psychological health and wellbeing of adults with a learning disability and possibly other presentations such as mental health issues, loss, and trauma, through a combination of highly specialist assessment, formulation of treatment programmes, clinical interventions. The post holder will also provide support and guidance for carers and professionals from an arts therapies perspective are also a part of this role Will work in collaboration with professional colleagues and voluntary agencies to provide a specialist service for adults with a learning disability. Will contribute to the future development and planning of the LD Arts Therapies service which reflects the strategic planning of psychological services within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Will provide advice, training and consultation pertaining to arts therapies to staff from other disciplines, carers or statutory bodies as required. Will manage autonomously a complex case-load using person-centred and evidence-based principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. Will be responsible as required by line manager for organising the placement and supervision (clinical and/or non-clinical) of arts therapies students on placement within the service. Will maintain HCPC registration as a condition of initial and continued employment. Will undertake appropriate CPD, research and audit activity This is a fixed term, part time maternity cover role at 18 hours per week. Clinical supervision with an external arts therapist supervisor is provided, along with many other opportunities for peer supervision and reflective practice.
