We are looking to appoint a mechanical engineer at our Lockerbie multi-site sawmill.
Reporting to the shift engineering supervisors, you will be responsible for carrying out
repairs, preventative and reactive maintenance across our multi-million-pound saw lines,
secondary processing plants, log sorting lines, chemical treatment and kiln drying plants.
? Carrying out repairs and overhauls in the workshops
? Following detailed planned preventative maintenance schedule
? Fault finding/diagnose technical process issues to resolve any breakdowns with
minimal down time and impact on production
? To work safely at all times complying with and using permit systems, method
statements, dynamic risk assessments etc.
? Assist in maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping and cleanliness
? Assist management in driving positive change within the business and actively
promoting a one team ethic throughout the site
? Must have a recognised engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification
? Preferably 3-5 years engineering gained within a manufacturing environment
? Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic principles would be an advantage
? Basic computer skills including data entry
? A flexible approach to work. Understanding that you may undertake additional or
other duties necessary to meet the needs of the company
? Previous experience of the timber industry is advantageous
