Job overview
Based within the Neuro Radiology Department – Royal Preston Hospital / Chorley District General Hospital. Opportunities exist to join our regional neurosciences centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria.
The post holder will be expected to provide a comprehensive diagnostic neuroradiology service and will provide support for the 9 existing neuroradiologists (4 of whom perform neuro intervention) and 2 head and neck radiologists.
Any person who is unable to work full-time for personal reasons will be eligible to be considered for the post and if appointed the job plan will be discussed on a personal basis in discussion with colleagues.
The applicants should hold or be eligible for CCT within 6 months of interview.
Main duties of the job
The post holder:
* Will be expected to provide a comprehensive diagnostic neuroradiology service and support for the existing neuroradiologists.
* In conjunction with colleagues, will have an active role in the planning, development and delivery of the neuro radiology service.
* Support diagnostic neuroradiology colleagues in both IP and OP MRI/CT reporting.
* A subspecialist interest in Head & Neck radiology is desirable.
* Interest in PET CT would be supported.
* Provide support for the local and Network neuroradiology MDTs.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in a neuroradiology on-call rota with a 1:9 frequency.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration and License to Practice
* MBBS or equivalent
* FRCR or equivalent
* CCT within 6 months
* Fellowship in Diagnostic neuroradiology from an accredited Training scheme
* Subspecialist training in Head & Neck/ENT radiology
* Experience of advanced neuro-imaging techniques
Experience
* Wide experience in diagnostic neuroradiology and MDT work in a tertiary neurosciences centre.
* Experience of presenting in Neuroradiology MDTs.
* Recent experience of on-call working.
* Ability to perform neck ultrasound and guided interventions.
* Teaching skills for both medical and paramedical disciplines.

* Evidence of commitment to audit and improving clinical practice/service development

* Evidence of interest in personal development through research and/or publications
