A brilliant new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Ward Manager - Mixed Acute Ward to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in the Stapleton, Bristol area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.
This hospital is recognized for the treatment of individuals, families, and couples facing a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
To be considered for this position, you must be qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a current active NMC Pin.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Hold oversight of the nursing staff rota and be the authorized individual to ensure rota management and e-rostering standards are maintained and effective. Availability for On Call Rota is required.
2. Act as a highly visible role model, mentor, and leader, creating a culture that promotes learning, development, inquiry, and professionalism, celebrating achievements and sharing learning for the benefit of the ward, hospital, and wider division.
3. Take appropriate action to ensure that the standard of care that patients receive is of the highest standard.
4. Actively lead on the recruitment and retention of staff to the ward and hospital.
5. Undertake and complete clinical investigations, complaints, and HR investigations, ensuring these are completed thoroughly, promptly, and to a high standard.
6. Ensure that the legislative frameworks regarding the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberties are applied in accordance with Company Policy and National Requirements.
7. Be responsible for Medicines Management in their Clinical Area/Ward, ensuring that all Registered Nurses undergo competency-based assessments as part of their induction and facilitate an open and transparent framework for managing medicine errors.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
1. At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory capacity within a relevant care setting.
2. Appropriate registration or experience required for the ward.
3. Willingness to complete further clinical, managerial, and leadership training and development relevant to your area of practice in management and leadership.
The successful Ward Manager will receive an excellent salary of GBP47,375 - GBP53,329 per annum DOE. This exciting position is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours a week.
