This full-time position has the potential to lead to a permanent placement for the right candidate.\n\nAs a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering an inclusive, varied, and high-energy PE curriculum that encourages all students to enjoy sports, develop physical literacy, and adopt active lifestyles. Whether coaching football, organising athletics, or leading team-building exercises, you will have the opportunity to foster a positive sporting culture and support the holistic development of your students.\n\nThis role suits a sports-minded teacher who brings enthusiasm, discipline, and creativity to every lesson and is eager to work collaboratively with a committed staff team.\n\nPhysical Education (PE) Teacher Responsibilities:\n\nDeliver high-quality PE lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5\nPromote physical activity and healthy lifestyles through engaging instruction\nOrganise and lead extracurricular sports clubs, interschool competitions, and sports days\nCoach and support students in a variety of team and individual sports, including football, athletics, rugby, netball, and more\nAdapt lessons to suit a wide range of fitness levels, abilities, and interests\nEnsure a safe and supportive environment for all sporting activities\nTrack student progress and provide clear feedback to encourage development\nPromote teamwork, discipline, and resilience through sporting experiences\nCollaborate with colleagues to deliver cross-curricular initiatives related to physical health and wellbeing\nMaintain equipment and oversee the safe use of facilities\nRequirements for a PE Teacher:\n\nQualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant PE teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE in Physical Education)\nDegree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field\nExperience coaching and teaching PE at the secondary level\nStrong knowledge of the national PE curriculum and current trends in physical education\nExcellent communication, classroom management, and motivational skills\nSports coaching experience across UK sports disciplines preferred but not mandatory.\nA commitment to promoting student wellbeing through physical activity\nEnhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one\nPlease be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing an application for a new check.\n\nAs an ethical, independent recruitment agency, GSL Education are committed to providing quality teaching and support staff across the UK.\n\nFor more information or to register your interest in the PE Teacher role, or to be considered, please click ‘apply now’ to submit your full and up-to-date CV, and one of our dedicated consultants will be in touch
