Operations Manager – Vegetation Management - Angus, Scotland - Monday to Friday - £50,000 basic + Minimum £5,000 Bonus + Pickup Truck + Private Healthcare + Laptop & Mobile
The Job:
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to take charge of a growing depot in Angus, Scotland, working within the commercial vegetation management sector. This role offers the chance to lead a dedicated team while playing a key role in the delivery of major infrastructure-related contracts.

This well-established business is recognised as a key player in the commercial grounds and vegetation management sector. Known for its reliable service and forward-thinking approach, the company continues to expand and is looking for a committed individual to take ownership of a strategically important depot.
The Role:
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of services while leading a team of 12+ staff including a Contracts Supervisor, Team Leaders, Operatives, and Tractor Drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all aspects of depot operations and service delivery
* Coordinate work schedules, logistics, and equipment usage
* Recruit, mentor, and support staff development
* Ensure machinery and vehicles are maintained and compliant
* Manage client relationships and seek opportunities to enhance contracts
* Monitor performance via internal digital systems
* Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and contract records
* Deliver work safely, on time, and within budget
* Maintain a commercial focus to support growth and profitability
The Candidate:
* Proven leadership and team management experience
* Understanding of operational planning and equipment maintenance
* Familiarity with digital contract tracking or CRM systems
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Commercial awareness with the ability to identify efficiencies
* Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and a drive to grow the depot
* Flexible and open to occasional travel or overnight stays
The Package:
* Basic salary of £50,000, with a minimum £5,000 performance bonus
* Company pickup truck, private healthcare, laptop, and mobile phone
* Monday to Friday working hours with a degree of flexibility
