Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 dependent on skills and experience
Location: Based in Northallerton (with travel to other office locations) and hybrid working
Contract: Permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday

We are currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join us as a Technical Director to lead and develop our Structures team.

In this role you will:
1. Be instrumental in leading and managing our structural engineering projects, ensuring the design and technical delivery meet industry standards and client requirements. Your strong communication and project management skills will be key in building and maintaining robust client relationships. You will keep clients informed on project progress through the preparation and presentation of detailed technical reports.
2. Your commitment to driving business success will be evident as you identify development opportunities, support bid writing, and secure new contracts, positively impacting our growth and continued success.
3. You will lead and support an established team of engineers and technicians known for consistently meeting and exceeding targets. Their passion and determination drive continuous improvement in the services we provide. We actively encourage staff development, and you will be responsible for mentoring and growing your team to ensure everyone reaches their full potential.
To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate the following essential skills and qualifications:
* Hold a degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent with extensive post-qualification experience in structural design.
* Ideally, you will be a chartered member of the Institution of Structural Engineers or the Institution of Civil Engineers or be willing to work towards this.
* Be fully competent in the conceptual and detailed design of structural engineering projects, including new builds, renovations, and extensive survey schemes with all forms of structural materials. Skilled in using AutoCAD, Revit, Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer, or similar software packages.
* Demonstrate significant experience in managing project delivery and leading teams within an engineering consultancy.
* Be proficient in resource and financial management, with the ability to produce scopes of work and fee proposals.
* Have a sound understanding of statutory section agreements, UK standards, Eurocodes, relevant design guidance documentation, and Building Regulations.
* Demonstrate excellent literacy and numeracy skills, with a keen eye for detail and a careful, accurate approach.
* Be self-motivated, proactive, and able to see projects through from feasibility to completion.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
