Role
The Ayr Ark is a youth project which seeks to engage with young people through events, outreach, and mentoring to equip young people with relevant skills and training and empower them to reach for a more positive future.
We are looking for an experienced Administrator to assist and support the Project Leader in the day-to-day running of the office. You will be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative and have the confidence and ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner. You will be highly organised with an excellent level of attention to detail. This is an exciting time to join the Ayr Ark as we have recently been relocated to new premises and are looking to develop our work amongst young people within our new facility.
Job Role:
The overall aim of the project is to deliver a programme of services to target and support young people in the east end of Glasgow who are under-achieving by raising and recognising achievement and creating opportunities.
Working across the Fuse programmes you will ensure that each participant is matched to an award, has an individual development plan where appropriate accreditation folders are kept up to date with all evidence captured and support young people to overcome barriers to participation and learning.

* To develop and inspire young people (including volunteers)

* Increased employability and employment options
Key Responsibilities:
* Overseeing all aspects of finance, including producing management accounts, supporting the CEO with budgets and tracking spend against budgets and grants, preparation of accounts for audit processes, financial processing, payroll, and bank payments.
* Maintaining HR records using an online system, working with HR advisors to produce HR documentation (e.g., contracts) and supporting staff recruitment and induction processes.
* Supporting good governance and risk management of the organisation by working with the board and CEO to maintain/update policies, comply with data storage requirements, and manage relevant records/files.
* Supporting the acquisition and management of contracts with suppliers and overseeing memberships with associated bodies.
* Providing secretarial support to the CEO and board as required.
* Working with the CEO to maintain general oversight of YMCA premises.
About You:
* High levels of self-motivation and a positive attitude.
* Experience in both day-to-day accounting and financial oversight, with a recognised accounting qualification or significant experience in a similar role.
* The ability to work independently, manage their diary, and handle organisational affairs to support the effective running of the organisation.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to engage with a broad range of groups.
* Proficiency in using ICT for communication.
* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive working relationships.
* A commitment to working with integrity, honesty, and empathy, with an understanding and acceptance of others.
* Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
LAYC is recruiting an Administrator to lead on general administrative office duties that contribute to the efficient running of LAYC and supports the wider Membership network.
The post will be based at LAYC with some homeworking possible, in line with the charity’s needs, 20 hours per week.
