Tewkesbury Borough Council is looking for an ambitious and motivated individual who is eager to make a positive difference in our communities, through the management of its tree stock in line with its newly emerging woodland and tree policy. Working alongside our Carbon Reduction Officer and our Climate Change Officer, you will be working towards achieving the best outcomes for our tree stock; assessing our trees through comprehensive inspection principles and managing contractors to deliver on the tree management objectives, as well as working towards the goal of increasing canopy cover across the borough. To be successful in the role, you will have good knowledge and be suitably qualified for tree and woodland management and inspections, whilst keeping up to date with developments in national policy as well as good practice. You will need to be able to manage contractors and develop programmes of works, to ensure the proactive management of our new and existing tree stocks. Knowledge of how climate change is impacting the health of trees in the UK would be of additional value.
