We’re recruiting for a Specifications Technologist to support the development of raw materials related initiatives focused on NPD, product innovation, value optimisation and quality improvement initiatives - and to manage the creation and the on-going maintenance of all raw materials specifications for all Twinings sites.
Fixed Term Contract (12 months), 3 days on site and 2 days from home (we're also open to part time for the right candidate)
Key Responsibilities
Raw Materials Specifications
* Management of existing and new raw materials specifications in the SpecPage system, final review and approval of raw materials specifications for all sites, dealing for non-conformances and communication with the suppliers, R&D, Procurement, Regulatory, Quality and Food Safety teams on new specifications associated matters.
* Ensure that all raw materials specifications are held in specification system (SpecPage) accurately and up to date,
* Ensure the smooth transfer of all raw materials for any product transfers across production sites or between suppliers,
* Key contact for inquiries about the specifications of raw materials used in Twinings,
* Key contact for all sites based raw materials data queries.
Information and process Control
* Accurate and timely collection of data in Data Bridge system for new raw materials and blends,
* Maintenance of procedures and instructions associated with raw materials processes.
* Review and approval of all raw materials CoA’s in the Central CoA’s database, raising Quality Notifications in case of non-conformances and management of associated CAPA’s.
* Monthly reporting of raw materials Quality Notifications and progress on Specifications completion for all sites to the Senior Management Team.
Continuous Improvement
* Support the Operations Team in implementing optimization projects that improve efficiency and scrap levels,
* Supporting projects driven by the Quality and Food Safety Team, to improve the processes and QMS integrity,
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Perfectly fluent spoken and written English, you’ll be articulate and clear thinking, with excellent verbal and written reasoning skills and an ability to communicate complex information with clarity.
* Graduate degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related Science discipline would be really advantageous, you’ll possess good understanding of raw materials, processes and specifications and experience in raw materials and finished products line trials.
* Experience of working within a similar commercial role within food industry and have knowledge of completing / reviewing specifications in specification systems (SpecPage system experience would be a bonus) is essential
* Culturally adaptive as this role will work across various international environments, open-minded with positive & solutions-focused attitude
* Good communication skills, attention to detail and be IT literate. Competent in Microsoft Packages – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint
* Self-Organised multi-tasker, with good persuasion and influencing skills and a positive attitude
