What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Façade Designer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Oak Business.
Ideally, you will be based in or around the Uxbridge area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the region.
1. Manage the façade design process using your commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness, and technical expertise.
2. Have experience with systems such as: Cavity Barriers, Glazing, Curtain Walling, Rainscreen Systems, Composite Cladding Systems, Render, Steel Frame Systems, Flashings and Bracketry, Windows and Doors, AOVs, and Louvres.
3. Produce construction drawings.
4. Develop procurement schedules and fabrication drawings.
5. Create Revit models across projects using linked models and generate D drawings directly from the model.
6. Prepare technical submittals.
7. Request engineering calculations from engineers.
8. Follow contract information, scope, specifications, and drawings.
9. Track and monitor design variations, raising changes with the commercial department.
10. Ensure all drawings are approved by the client.
11. Deliver projects in accordance with ERs, CPs, statutory requirements, and ensure all parties are aware of their obligations.
12. Coordinate with relevant parties to raise or resolve project-related issues affecting documentation delivery.
13. Review and evaluate design deliverables for buildability and compliance, liaising with the client's design team and suppliers.
About You:
* Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering, or Building Design (Architectural).
* Proven experience with steel, aluminium, and glass systems.
* Knowledge of CWCT, Building Regulations, BSR, etc.
* Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
* Ability to work safely and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
* Analytical problem-solving skills.
* Client-focused with the ability to build productive relationships.
* Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Effective leadership skills.
