We are excited to be advertising for two Operational and Clinical Service Leads to support the Child Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP) and the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) teams. The two successful candidates will work closely together alongside the MHST/CWP Service Lead.
Main Duties of the Job
One of the roles will be more clinically focused, while the other will be more operationally focused, but both roles will need to work together to support the safe running of the service.
As both roles will cover Torbay and Devon, the candidates will need to be able to travel around, but can be based out of any of the following locations: Torbay, South Devon, Exeter, or North Devon.

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) comprises an Alliance of NHS organisations working together to improve health outcomes for children and young people in Devon.
CFHD provides integrated care and treatment for children and young people across physical and mental health. We are working closely with other organisations and providers to ensure we deliver locality and county-wide based integrated access to all of our services, based on the i-Thrive Framework.
CFHD works closely with our local universities of Plymouth, Exeter & the Peninsula Medical School where we support students in clinical training placements and additionally support our own staff to undertake postgraduate training.
Our integrated care and treatment have been developed and refined in partnership with children, young people, and their families/carers.

Job Responsibilities

The post holder will work with the project manager to further develop the partnership working that is currently taking place between Education, Local Authority, CCG, and CAMHS locality teams across Devon and Torbay.
The post holder will report to the relevant compliance boards and partnership meetings, ensuring service delivery is reported on in line with expectations.
The post holder will be expected to lead the evolution of service development, implementation, and total delivery of the Trail Blazer Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) across the whole of Devon and Torbay and be able to adapt to the service growth with a measured and organised approach.
The post holder will be responsible for the overall effective clinical and operational management of the Trail Blazer Mental Health Support Team, working with the MHST team managers and staff teams. They will use clinical expertise, effective leadership, change management, and team building skills to monitor, evaluate, and develop the service provided.
The MHSTs will deliver evidence-based interventions supporting emotional wellbeing, primarily in an educational setting. The post holder will be expected to embed strong and robust audit measures to ensure clinical outcomes are successful and in line with expectations of this new and evolving service.
The post holder will be expected to employ a range of embedded practices to quality assure activity in all aspects of the MHST delivery.
The service will be available Monday to Friday, 9-5 pm, though there may be times when engagement events are required beyond 5 pm in line with service delivery to support whole school engagement. It is essential that the post holder is flexible and willing to travel across Devon and Torbay.
The post holder will be expected to attend local, regional, and national Trailblazer events and demonstrate substantial leadership skills in supporting the national evolution of the MHSTs.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience and understanding of working with education providers, understanding the pressures that staff in the school environment experience.
* Proven experience of building and maintaining effective relationships with multi-agency colleagues who may hold different perspectives and priorities.
* Extensive experience of managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of complex needs.
* Substantial experience of working at a senior CAMHS Management level.
* Extensive experience of providing clinical supervision and managing staff, including managing complex employee relations cases.
* Budget management.
* Extensive experience of leading a clinical team.
* Experience of analysing and presenting complex data at a strategic level.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Comprehensive understanding of the Mental Health Act and mental health presentations in children/young people across the age range.
* Proven comprehensive understanding of complex mental health issues and the Early Intervention and Preventative practice.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and developments in the field of preventative early intervention in children's mental health, including evidence-based practice.
* Understanding of CYP-IAPT principles and application to practice.
* Ability to be mobile across a geographical area.
Qualifications
* Professional clinical knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by postgraduate diploma specialist training, management qualification, or equivalent and experience.
* A professional qualification relevant to children's healthcare (such as Social Work, Nursing, Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Psychological Therapy Qualification, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy).
* Professional registration/accreditation with a recognised body, e.g., NMC, HCPC, Social Work England, UKCP, BABCP.
