Role Summary:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the financial management of Project costs and delivery, including the overseeing a variety of contracts, managing subcontractors, activity schedules, payments and variations. Producing bills of quantities and estimating, through to tendering and procurement, including running risk registers to ensure we maintain projects on time and to budget, whilst accurately forecasting the financial performance of a project.
Role & Responsibilities:
· Performing Risk Management, value management, cost control and reporting
· Valuing completed work and agreeing payments for approval
· Advising on estimating and procurement strategies during feasibility and active project stages
· Preparing Tender and Contract documents, including liaison with consultants, contractors and Project Teams
· Providing Advice on contractual claims and general contract admin
· Ensure the timely production of interim valuations and the preparation, submission and substantiation of final accounts
· Ensure the management and control of subcontract and suppliers accounts in line with agreed terms and conditions
· Identifying and analysing Commercial risks
· Preparing claim documents as may be required
· Prepare and present relevant financial and commercial information
· Attend and actively participate regular Project meetings
· Ensure the implementation and provision of cost related information to measure the financial and physical performance of projects against set targets.
· Prepare, update and maintain activities schedules of budget costs, actual costs, project variations and programme delivery
· Feed updated information into live cashflow forecast with Finance Team
· Preparing and analysing tender documents
· Ensure professional presentation of information and supply comprehensive supporting documentation where required
· Identify, quantify and notify all contract variations and prepare and maintain contract change registers
· Carrying out procurement and ensuring POs are raised in line with company policy
Requirements:
· Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar
· Desirable for having or working towards MRICS membership
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying on commercial / domestic projects
· Comfortable interfacing with Senior Management
· Excellent Analytical Skills to make informed, balanced business decisions and reporting findings to relevant stakeholders
· Strong Attention to detail
· Good Judgement and decision making
· Numerate
· Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, Xero and netsuite
