Working hours: 16 hours per week Interview Date: To be confirmed The Anti-Trafficking and Modern Slavery safe house is an accommodation service accommodating victims of Modern Slavery who are being supported through the National Referral Mechanism. Our aim is to support these individuals during their recovery and reflection period in order to assist them transitioning from victim to survivor. The support provided to our residents is tailored according to their needs and as such is very person centred concentrating primarily of the individual’s wellbeing. The Project supports primarily male adult victims of Modern Slavery and supports individuals of all nationalities, faiths and sexual orientation. Overall Purpose of the role: The role of Assistant Support Worker with The Salvation Army is an inspirational one and key to achieving successful outcomes for clients. As a motivated and dynamic Assistant Support Worker you will be responsible for assisting with delivering a high-quality programme of support which promotes client choice and control. You will address clients support needs, enable them to make positive life choices and ultimately empower them to lead more sustainable lifestyles. You will also complete day to day activities including administration tasks and reception duties to support the successful operation of the safe house. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate: Empathy, patience and kindness towards residents and new arrivals. Good customer services skills. The ability to prioritise their own work load. Proficiency in a range of IT packages including Microsoft. A knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by vulnerable clients. The ability to work within the Christian ethos of the Salvation Army. Good written and verbal communication skills.
