Apple Recruitment are recruiting for a Band 5 Finance Analyst on behalf of our client the NHSCT in Ballymena Hourly Rate: £14.53 in addition holiday hours accrued and paid Hours: 37 ½ hrs Duration: 3 – 6 months Location: Ballymena Please note only applicants that match this criteria can be considered for the role. Main duties and responsibilities: The post-holder will assist in the provision of a fully integrated Financial Management Service, including the design and provision of budgets that reflect the service and available resources, ensuring that effective budgetary control is applied throughout the Trust. Criteria: Demonstrate 4 years relevant finance experience. OR Diploma for Accounting Technicians (ATI) or equivalent (QCF Level 5) with 2 years relevant finance experience. Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post. Working knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel functions Duties: Budget Setting and Control Assists with the establishment, development and maintenance of an efficient and effective system of budgetary control. Responsible for the preparation and input of approved changes to the budgetary system. To assist in the provision of financial information and reports to the commissioning body (HSCB), Department of Health (DoH) and other agencies. Develop and maintain an appropriate suite of financial management reports for budget managers. Co-ordinating the flow of information through the department, including actioning of appropriate budgetary/expenditure adjustments. Assist in the identification of funding in relation to vacancies prior to recruitment commencing. Assist with special exercises, reviews and investigations as required. Financial Planning and Reporting To assist with the provision of regular monthly reports and information regarding budgets and expenditure within explicit standards for timeliness and content. Provision of support to Directorate Support Accountants including summary variance explanations and ad hoc investigations. Liaise/meet with Budget managers on a regular basis to review financial performance and to assist them in the understanding and interpretation of their budgetary position. To ensure that monthly and year-end Financial Management procedures are adhered to, including the monthly reconciliation of the financial budgetary systems.
