Our client is one of the UK's largest independent surfacing contractors, delivering bespoke surfacing solutions across a wide range of industries nationwide and throughout the UK.
We are looking for an experienced Surfacing Contracts Manager to oversee and manage multiple road surfacing projects in the midlands area. This role will involve managing all aspects of asphalt surfacing contracts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and of course to the highest quality and safety standards. You will act as the key point of contact between clients, subcontractors, and the site team.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Management of asphalt surfacing contracts from inception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards while promoting best practices and continuous improvement in the area of work.
2. Coordinate and plan materials, labour, and plant for each project, ensuring optimal use of resources to meet project deadlines.
3. Forward planning of works to remove peaks and troughs for production.
4. Developing and maintaining key client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Collecting and collating monthly material forecasting to ensure management of maximum material outputs.
6. Carry out site inspections and audits in line with the company requirements.
7. Ensure all projects adhere to health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments.
8. Writing health and safety plans and risk assessments, ensuring all sites have the appropriate documentation.
Commercial Aspect of the role:
1. Monitor and control project costs, preparing and managing budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered within financial targets.
2. Working closely with the QS to ensure the team maximises all aspects of the contract, taking steps to minimise risk, protect commercial interests, and maximise profit.
Requirements:
1. A construction management qualification.
2. A valid CSCS card.
3. Experience in managing contracts in the surfacing industry or a related field.
4. Excellent communication skills and a good ability to liaise effectively with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
5. Clean driving license as you will be issued a company van.
Working hours:
1. 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday
