As the first point of contact for visitors, parents, staff, and pupils, the School Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, professional environment. This role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to multi-task, and a flexible, can-do attitude. The receptionist will also assist the Admin Team with a variety of administrative tasks, requiring good IT skills.
Responsibilities include:
1. Welcoming visitors and responding to telephone/email enquiries in a helpful and constructive manner.
2. Ensuring that appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner and are in accordance with the school's safeguarding procedures.
3. Communicating with parents regarding all aspects of school life, receiving and passing on information between parents and teachers.
4. Ensuring the safety and security of the school at all times, making sure that the front doors are locked and entry to the premises is controlled.
5. Ensuring that all visitors sign in and take a visitor badge where necessary.
6. Undertaking filing in accordance with the established systems as requested.
7. Working within and maintaining all school established administrative systems and procedures.
8. Collating and maintaining accurate records and producing reports and letters.
9. Assisting with all admissions related tasks.
10. Ensuring the reception area is kept smart and tidy.
11. Receiving, sorting, and distributing all packages/post to the relevant staff members.
12. Sending all outgoing post.
13. Establishing and maintaining good relationships with all stakeholders.
