Job overview
We are recruiting for a Head of Nursing & Quality - Unplanned Care who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The Unplanned Care division is looking for an individual to join the senior nursing team as the head of Nursing for the UEC (Care Group 1), covering ED, Medical assessment & short stay, SDEC, UTC, and stroke.
The successful candidate will need to be a registered professional with the ability to provide strong professional clinical leadership, experience of quality care provision and oversight, and an understanding of finance and HR processes.
They will support the Divisional Director of Nursing and be a key member of the Senior Management Team across the Division. The post holder will support the Divisional Director of Nursing to continually improve patient care, experience, and assist with the implementation of National and Trust initiatives.

Main duties of the job
This exciting position will be integral to ensuring continued safe and successful services within the unplanned care division.
As the Head of Nursing and Quality, you will make a real difference to patient care and pathways. As a subject matter expert and specialist, you will provide visible professional leadership and demonstrate a strong commitment to support the team in the delivery of both the nursing and trust strategy.
You will support the teams in the transformation agenda in redesigning models of care and patient pathways to provide the best possible care and outcome for our patients.
On a day-to-day basis, you will have professional line management, supervision responsibilities, and oversight of the wellbeing of Matrons, CNS, Clinical educators, and their teams, ensuring support, professional growth, and leadership development are provided for all the staff.

Qualifications/Training
* Registered Nurse Degree or equivalent relevant experience
* Master’s level qualification/ working towards or equivalent experience
Previous Experience
* Extensive experience in Senior Nursing position
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Specific management and/or leadership training
* Experience of managing people
* Experience of managing change and associated behaviors
* Experience of developing policies and procedures
* Evidence of outcomes from application of professional leadership
