The Head of Technology Architecture is a new senior leadership role within the Architecture and Data team that will support the Director of Architecture and Data in setting the overall technology strategy and delivery roadmap for UAL. The successful candidate will be an expert in the architecture, engineering, and delivery practices necessary to support a modern business undergoing significant business transformation and will have demonstrable experience in leading change in a complex stakeholder environment.

As the Head of Technology Architecture, you will be leading the Technology architecture needed to meet the priorities of the organisation. The role will be driving the development and implementation of the technology strategies, and the core infrastructure, including identity and access, underpinning D&T and the wider UAL IT estate.
This is a senior leadership position that requires a deep understanding of the technology landscape and strong leadership skills. You will also engage closely with our partners owning our Technology strategy and landscape from an architecture perspective offering and working closely with digital and technology teams leading the ongoing delivery of the service.
Experience
* Significant experience in IT Architecture within academic or research environments.
* Expertise or experience in zero trust network architecture.
* Expertise or experience in setting up Cloud FinOps.
* Proven experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and transitioning from on-premises to hybrid-cloud environments.
* Experience in Data Centre migration, hyperconverged infrastructure (e.g., Dell VXRail, Nutanix), and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
* Expertise in Identity and Access Management.
* Certifications in relevant technology areas (e.g., VMware, Microsoft/Azure, AWS).
* Proven strategic leadership, setting technology standards and roadmaps for large organisations.
* Demonstrable ability to mentor and develop technical team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
