SUMMARY
The Companion Care Team member enables the client to remain free from injury or harm and provides companionship to ensure a secure environment. The Care Team member observes the client and reports changes to the nurse or responsible person, providing general attention to the client.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides non-personal, non-nursing care to the client. (NO HANDS-ON CARE)
* Provides generalized attention to the needs of the ill, injured, impaired, disabled, and/or aged as directed by the nurse/responsible person.
* Observes the client for physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
* Ensures a safe environment for the client at all times.
* Provides a sense of security and protects the client from harm related to their illness.
* Keeps the environment clean and organized.
* Prepares meals and provides escort/transportation services.
* Provides continuous companionship for the client.
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
* Demonstrates professionalism in the Care Team role.
* Assumes accountability and extends self when needs arise.
* Arrives on time and provides notice for absences or tardiness.
* Completes additional tasks when assigned.
