The Role
As a Senior Project Accountant, you’ll support the delivery of current and future projects within our Warships support business unit.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:
* Preparation of monthly financial reporting routines.
* Providing financial expertise and cost control guidance to project teams.
* Assisting the finance and senior management team to implement changes within the Business Unit to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
* Focusing on continual improvement of processes, particularly on increased cost controls and management reporting.
* Preparing project status reports and supporting project teams to maximize profitability and control expenditure.
* Preparing contractually required reports and maintaining reporting systems.
* Supporting the production of monthly financial reports.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and requires regular travel to our Devonport site in Plymouth alongside home working arrangements.
Essential Experience of the Senior Project Accountant:
* Experience in a similar project accountancy/finance role.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
* Experience with Finance IT applications (IFS etc).
* High-quality communication ability, both written and orally.
* Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at a senior level.
Qualifications for the Senior Project Accountant:
* Ideally, you will fully hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent/similar, but you must be part qualified as a minimum.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
