We are seeking to recruit a talented and skilled Construction and Building Services Teacher/Instructor. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the ability to inspire and motivate students who have been permanently excluded from school or finding it difficult to manage their behaviour. This is a unique opportunity to make a substantial contribution to further improving outcomes for a significant group of vulnerable and challenging young learners and to help shape provision across the College and in partner schools through an outreach model.
We wish to appoint someone who is/has:
• An inspirational teacher, with strong interpersonal and motivational skills and an excellent track record of delivering excellence in the classroom
• High quality organisation and self-management skills
• Not afraid of a challenge and have strong, restorative behaviour management skills
• Creative and innovative with an ability to translate ideas into practice
• Resilient and has a passion for achieving the best possible outcomes for our vulnerable learners.
What the school offers its staff
• Meadowbrook College staff are both professional and resilient. There is a “can do” attitude that makes a real difference to the lives of our students; many of whom have become disengaged with education and lost the confidence to achieve their full potential
• We offer a variety of opportunities for ongoing professional development for all staff
• We are working in an ever-changing and expanding educational climate where the need for alternative provision solutions is increasing. Our provision is always adapting and new opportunities are always evolving.
Commitment to safeguarding
Meadowbrook College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff and volunteers are also expected to promote fundamental British values. This post involves the type of work with children and young people that require applicants to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post. All cases are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed. On-line searches are carried out on those shortlisted
