Privately owned, fast-growth SME in the Telcos/technology space seeks Group Financial Controller

Our client is a privately owned technology company that is experiencing significant growth and continues its development trajectory as it expands overseas.
Your new role
Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the finance function, developing a high-performing finance team and ensuring that financial systems, processes and controls meet the needs of an ambitious, growing business, including all aspects of financial control, reporting, and tax. You will work closely with the Extended Leadership Team in order to facilitate cross-department collaboration and good decision-making outside the executive team.
This broad role will build a team who are highly engaged with business stakeholders, promoting a strong customer service ethos and high professional standards in line with company values and in service of delivering company strategy. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand the business context and internal customer needs to proactively serve the business, and you will represent finance as a member of the extended leadership team, and to work with other heads of department / directors to ensure that the business is operating efficiently to deliver the business strategy.
As Group Financial Controller you will oversee all financial control activities, e.g. month-end close process, preparation and review of management accounts, Taxation, Group Consolidation, Cash Management, as well as improving finance & business processes and utilising systems to drive efficiencies for sustainable scalability. You will manage the company’s financial reporting processes, ensuring that financial reports provide insightful performance information to stakeholders, are delivered on time, are accurate, and ultimately assist the commercial decision-making process to meet the business strategy, and you will lead the preparation of the statutory accounts, and manage the year-end audit process, ensuring that recommendations from audits are implemented where appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in group companies and consolidation, ideally in a growth or scale-up company and with movement of goods. You will have experience in a finance leadership role where you have delivered high levels of integrity and used your strong communication skills to interpret finance data and processes for non-financial colleagues. A “roll your sleeves up” attitude is needed to align with our company values for a one-team approach. You will be highly IT literate with experience of optimising the use of financial systems, processes and controls and have the critical thinking and commercial awareness to apply insights to improve your team and business performance in terms of financials and efficiency /reputation.
