THIS IS AN UNPAID VOLUNTEERING ROLE. Role Title: Principal/Senior Executive Officers (Governance) Role Nature: Volunteer Location: Home-based We are looking for passionate VOLUNTEERS who take a strategic approach to their work, build professional relationships with stakeholders, and generate opportunities for the organisation's development. T he Senior Executive Officer will support the Company Secretary and the wider work of the Governance Support Bureau, and the Director-General. This is a voluntary unpaid role as with all roles in the BCI. Responsibilities: To provide regular administrative support for the Director-General and to support the effective governance of the BCI; To assist the Governance Support Bureau in developing the governance structure and processes of the BCI; To assist in the BCI membership development; To support with general resource management duties; To mentor junior volunteers and provide support to the Principal Executive Officer (Governance) and the Company Secretary in the management of team workflows. To attend blockchain-related activities in the name of BCI; and, To support during conferences and events the Director-General and other relevant members of the BCI. Requirements Skills & Abilities Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships, work flexibly across professional and operational boundaries, and communicate professionally and diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders at all levels; Excellent English writing; Close attention to detail; Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance competing demands under pressure. General & Specialist Knowledge Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office; Strong depth of knowledge on topics central to the BCI such as climate change, climate finance, and blockchain technology preferred. Education & Training A relevant degree or training in Business, Climate Change, Environmental Science, or Finance is preferred; Demonstrable interest in corporate governance, including a qualification in corporate governance or company secretarial work, would be preferred. Relevant Experience Proven ability in organization/business administration, including demonstrable experience in leading independently on projects; Demonstrable experience in supporting committees or Boards would be preferred; Experience working in a target-driven role; Proven ability to coordinate and develop strategies in an environment-related organization(s); Experience in building constructive relationships with stakeholders; Experience in working independently and with teams to drive forward projects using one's own initiative. To recruit the most suitable, talented, or potential new members out of the volume of applications received, it is the BCI’s policy to also consider inexperienced candidates to fill our voluntary unpaid roles as long as they can demonstrate the skills required in the written assessment. In the selection process, most candidates will be invited to complete the following assessment. Section A: Verbal and Numerical Reasoning (20 multiple-choice questions) Section B: Situation Judgement Test (20 multiple-choice questions) Section C: In-Tray Exercise (An open-ended assessment relevant to the duties of the role) Candidates who pass all three sections will be invited to attend a phone screening, first interview, and final interview online.
