Position TGL Wenlock Rd Operations Manager Job Purpose To manage and proactively improve the Wenlock Road Warehouse & Despatch operations, Warehouse Management System and KPI targets, both internally and externally. TGL principles expect that all Managers possess a strong understanding of the business and as such demonstrate a proactive and solution driven approach along with a hands on can do positive attitude at all levels and times. Principal Accountabilities To ensure Health & Safety rules are adhered to for the site at all times with 24/7 responsibility. Maintain H&S site Management auditing and ensure behavior controls are in place for all aspects of the site. H&S KPI reporting. Report into the Head of Group Logistics. To achieve OTIF 100%. To achieve stock accuracy 100%. To manage team reportee performance and review progress with Head of Group Logistics. To co-ordinate goods inward function and to communicate effectively with purchasing, manufacturing and suppliers. To manage all on site inventory in an accountable, measured, responsible and timely manner. Weekly stock takes vs Business inventory system. Actively focus on site operation cost and ensure damages etc are managed at least possible cost to the business. Needs a positive solution cost aware driven approach. To deal with customer queries and complaints within remit and to bring to a timely conclusion. To maintain effective communication with Warehouse shift Team Leaders and to ensure effective co-ordination of tasks. Will actively develop reportees and operators. To liaise with Customer Service to ensure orders are accurately picked and despatched on time. To liaise with Third Party Logistics providers to maintain agreed performance, maintain KPIs and ensure orders are delivered on time. To develop own performance by actively seeking out learning & development opportunities. To deliver coaching/training as required. Needs to be flexible with hours and weekend working as business needs dictate. Have a valid UK car license and be willing to travel to other sites within the Group to visit suppliers/customers. To carry out tasks allocated by the Group Logistics Manager. To deputise for the Head of Group Logistics as and when required. Essential 5 years management experience in a FMCG (Food related) warehouse/distribution centre. Computer Literate. (Outlook, Excel, Word WMS and BMS) Educated to A level standard or equivalent minimum. Excellent communicator. Demonstrable ability in achieving targets. Excellent team working/people skills. Experience of Warehouse Management Systems. Stock Control management. Valid UK driving and forklift license. Desirable Demonstrable experience in managing change. Personal development in Warehousing and Distribution will be an advantage. Warehouse Management qualification. Yard class 1 HGV shunting experience
