We operate 24/7, and as such, you are required to work flexible hours, weekends, and participate in an on-call rota. Full training, PPE, and use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our employees have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.

Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours, plus on-call rota - start times to be discussed
Salary: £36,000 - £40,500 per annum, depending upon experience (salary to be discussed at interview)

About the Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager for Special Projects, the Special Projects Manager organizes, leads, and helps execute company projects that may fall outside the scope of regular duties. The specific responsibilities and purpose of projects vary depending on the industry and type of organization. As a Special Projects Manager, you ensure the scope of the project fits the budget and that staff complete each phase of the project within the scheduled timeline.
1. Manages program-specific special projects.
2. Coordinates and/or supervises the activities of personnel involved in the development and implementation of special projects.
3. Confers with the department head or assigned designee to determine basic departmental policies and operating procedures and coordinates implementation.
4. Assesses departmental priorities and objectives and makes action recommendations to the department head or assigned designee.
5. Develops the operating budget for program-specific special projects.
6. Assists in the formulation of the annual departmental budget.
7. Performs departmental and program-specific analysis.
8. Conducts complex studies and prepares reports.
9. Meets with community groups and members of the public.
10. Represents the department on committees and task forces as assigned.
11. Represents the department at public hearings and makes public presentations.
12. Analyzes state and/or federal law and regulations to ensure departmental program compliance.
13. Utilizes a personal computer and various software.
14. Be aware of Lanes Group policies and your responsibility towards them.
15. Any other reasonable ad hoc duties requested by the Operations or Regional Manager for LMC, the Head of Treatment and Logistics, or any other member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

About You:
The ideal candidate will be hardworking, respectful, and comply with health and safety standards. Previous management and leadership experience is crucial, as is a full UK driver’s license. Having prior knowledge of the utilities sector, especially drainage and wastewater, will be an advantage. Being able to prioritize and multitask while building working relationships is essential.
