Data Analyst – Telecommunications Organisation
The Data Analyst will play a key role in developing and managing big data products, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and valuable to clients. This includes building, maintaining, optimising, and automating SQL-based data pipelines and processes to enhance data products that deliver actionable insights. Working within an agile product development team, the role is jointly accountable for the quality, development, and operation of these products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop software, scripts, and tools for data products, including visualisation tools, databases, and data processing systems.
2. Improve existing methodologies, processes, and products, driving quality enhancements.
3. Continuously enhance delivery efficiency, ensuring regular, reliable, and predictable product updates.
4. Gain a deep understanding of mobile network data and its processing to maximise value from data assets.
5. Design and optimise SQL queries and database structures to improve performance and scalability.
6. Respond to technical challenges in a timely and professional manner.
Skills & Competencies
Essential:
1. Experience in writing and deploying production-ready code.
2. Strong understanding of databases, with expertise in SQL for writing analytical queries and optimising data processing.
3. Proven ability to define and implement process improvements independently.
4. Proficiency in Git or similar version control tools.
5. Ability to develop complex methodologies, analyse data, and present insights effectively.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
7. Capable of understanding, defining, and implementing technical changes independently.
8. Self-motivated, with strong organisational and time-management skills.
9. Business awareness and ability to develop and enhance data products.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
1. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
2. Familiarity with continuous delivery environments.
3. Experience processing large volumes of data.
4. Knowledge of transport modelling and related data.
5. Experience in geospatial data analysis and GIS tools.
6. Proficiency in Tableau or similar data visualisation tools.
