The Clinical Service Manager will work closely with the Head of Clinical Operation and their Clinical Service Manager peer in region to ensure the team are delivering the most effective pre-authorisation and end to end case management services. This role will collaborate with other Clinical Operation teams, plus Clinical Governance specialists, Healthcare Management and partner managers across Bupa Global and UKI to ensure alignment of services and achieve consistent evidence-based care is delivered in a value-based healthcare setting for the Bupa customer. You will be leading a team of Case Managers and a Care Coordinator.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
1. Deliver clinical case management and pre-authorisation services.
2. Implement case and disease management programs.
3. Manage complex cases and cost strategies.
4. Lead and develop a team of health professionals.
5. Ensure team meets service and customer standards.
6. Achieve targets for resolution, scores, assessments, and savings.
7. Collaborate with improvement and governance partners.
8. Resolve clinical case and emergency issues.
9. Promote team alignment with Bupa’s goals.
10. Adhere to regulatory guidelines.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
11. Being a registered clinician is essential (nurse, doctor or allied health professional) and a secondary qualification in either management, healthcare administration, customer service, or related studies is desirable
12. A background in medical health insurance, case management, emergency assistance, or transferable skills from financial services (e.g., Contact Centres, Life Insurance, Banking) is preferred
13. Leadership experience and a proven track record of leading teams in hospital, community, or digital health services
14. The ability to establish a performance management culture and build high-performing clinical teams
15. Experience managing employees who are leaders, such as team coaches or senior clinicians
16. Strong skills in coaching and developing team members
17. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a focus on achieving results in a remote team
18. Experience in quality and process improvement initiatives
19. Speaking a second language and having international working experience is advantageous
