The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the overall engineering asset management, planning, and scheduling all maintenance activities using SAP (Computerised Maintenance Management System) software. This position is a critical forward-facing role within the maintenance department to ensure the reliability of our assets.
Responsibilities
* Execute planning & scheduling strategy in alignment with PEMM.
* Generate weekly maintenance schedules with an outlook of up to six weeks.
* Facilitate planning/scheduling meetings with key stakeholders.
* Perform regular data analysis of work order management and asset performance.
* Custodian of data quality and data cleansing of the SAP – work order backlog, prioritisation, failure codes, data integrity, labour hours, spare parts.
* Develop and maintain a 52-week maintenance plan with optimised level loading of maintenance hours.
* Provide software training to end users (technicians) and new SAP Administrators; serve as liaison for problem solving and escalation.
* Upload planned maintenance task lists, generating schedules to standardised time and frequency in alignment with annualised plan.
* Prioritise work requests from internal customers, defining critical requests to support food safety and health & safety.
* Parts kitting/staging for effective maintenance execution to maximise wrench time.
* Coordinate with external contractors on agreed service intervals, time, and duration.
* Ensure alignment of SAP planned tasks with statutory and mandatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
* A minimum of 4-5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English, Maths, and Science.
* CMMS Training (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems): knowledge of SAP software.
Optional but preferred:
* A Level 3 Diploma or A-Levels in relevant subjects such as Engineering, Manufacturing, or Technology.
* Apprenticeships: Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship, Level 4 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician.
* Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND), or a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering field.
