Would you like to work for the charity that cares for hundreds of historic sites in every corner of England? We are looking for a Visitor Assistant to join us at Stonehenge, working a minimum of 21.6 hours to a maximum of 36 hours per week.
No history background? No problem. What is important to us is a passion for people and excellent customer service. You will enjoy working with others as part of a team and understand what makes excellent customer service to deliver an engaging visitor experience to a diverse audience.
As a member of the Welcome Team at Stonehenge, you will join an amazing team of employees and volunteers, ensuring visitors have a great time from the moment they arrive until they say goodbye. If you have a passion and genuine enthusiasm for engaging with people, providing an outstanding welcome to our beautiful properties, and relish the opportunity to turn this engagement into membership, this could be the role for you.
Your role will involve working in our Front of House and Membership admission till areas, providing engagement in our queuing system, and helping with directions in our car park, all while providing a world-class welcome to all our visitors.
You will be visitor-focused as part of the welcome team, providing excellent customer service, where your passion and enthusiasm will engage and inspire our visitors to become members of English Heritage.
You will also ensure your site is accessible, safe, and well presented at all times. It is a varied role, and some days will be busy from start to finish, while others may be quieter, especially on the wetter days! No two days are the same.
We're looking for someone with an enthusiasm for working face to face with visitors, who enjoys working with others as part of a team to deliver an engaging visitor experience with a focus on promoting and selling membership.
As a confident communicator, you will be comfortable building rapport with our visitors and using your skills to tell them about our wonderful properties and encourage them to join English Heritage as members.
Training and support will be provided as part of your induction to the role, but some paid or voluntary experience working with the public may be beneficial.
Benefits include:
* The opportunity for career progression within the heritage sector in retail, food and beverage, or general management
* Opportunities to attend some of our great live music and history events
* Free access to all English Heritage sites for you, and up to 6 friends and/or family members
* 25% discount in our shops and cafes
* Enhanced maternity/paternity/shared parental leave
* 25 days' holiday plus Bank Holidays pro rata, rising to 28 days after 3 years
* Options to buy additional leave
* Matched pension contributions up to a maximum of 10%
