A leading company in rail vehicle maintenance and overhaul, based at a historic works site, is experiencing rapid growth. To support this growth, they are looking for a proactive and self-starting Project Buyer to join their dynamic team. This vital role will be key in ensuring the smooth execution of ongoing projects, managing the supply chain, and supporting production needs. The role involves addressing material supply challenges, maintaining quality control, and streamlining procurement processes. Key responsibilities:
* Oversee timely material delivery and proactively manage stock.
* Solve supply chain issues and contribute to quality control.
* Manage purchase orders and invoice queries efficiently.
* Source ad-hoc materials as required.
* Actively participate in daily production meetings and adjust procurement strategies as needed to keep projects on track and within budget.
Candidate Essentials:
* Proven experience as a Project Buyer or in a similar procurement role, ideally in a project-driven or manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of supply chain management and stock control.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Qualifications:
* Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, or similar fields would be highly beneficial.
Desirable:
* Experience within the rail industry or other heavy engineering sectors.
* Familiarity with project management principles and processes.
