Overview
I’m working with a well-respected Legal 500 firm who are looking to add an Associate or Senior Associate to join their Employment team in Cardiff. The team advises on all areas of employment law and represents a wide range of national and international clients across the public, private, and third sectors, providing a strong platform to develop technical expertise and business development skills within a supportive and thriving environment.
The Role
This position allows for hybrid working as part of a friendly and committed team. You will engage in a mix of contentious and non-contentious work, primarily supporting employer clients. This includes handling disputes, providing general advisory services, corporate support, and occasional client training. Clients span a variety of sectors, including household-name retailers, NHS bodies, government, and third-sector organisations, ensuring a diverse workload and opportunities to work on interesting and impactful matters.
You will assist Partners in supervising and developing junior team members while benefiting from collaboration with a larger team across the firm’s other offices.
Who
You must demonstrate solid technical expertise, intellectual ability, and a passion for employment law. Key skills include strong analytical, research, drafting, and negotiation abilities, along with a relationship-driven approach, excellent communication, and matter management capabilities. A track record in practice development and a proficiency with IT are also essential, alongside self-motivation and the ability to take responsibility for matters.
