OUR STORY
Founded in 2016, DF Capital was born with a focus on distribution finance - providing dealers, distributors, and manufacturers with the funding they need to stock, display, and sell products, without straining cash flow.
Since then, we’ve delivered over £3.5bn of funding across diverse sectors. From motorhomes and machinery to motorbikes and lodges, we’ve financed all shapes and sizes of commercial vehicles and automobiles (no planes or trains - yet). We listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange in 2019.
BECOMING A BANK
In 2020, we became a fully authorised bank, extending our offering with savings products for retail depositors. As a member of the newly created Structured Finance team, you will play a key role in building, growing and retaining a customer base by offering class-leading funding solutions which enable our customers to meet and exceed their business ambitions. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Structured Finance you will be responsible for originating and managing relationships with Structured Finance customers. You will have a broad range of solutions at your disposal including the cutting-edge tech-based Stock Flow Finance & Invoice Finance products as well as Wholesale Finance and Short-Term Secured Business Loans.
DFC’s Structured Finance solutions are designed not only to meet customers’ working capital needs but are also perfect for financing customer opportunities such as mergers and acquisitions, business restructures and asset purchases.
You will have accountability with the Managing Director, Structured Finance and the rest of the team for delivery of the team’s business plan, measured by growth of the loan book and its financial returns. You and the team will also shape and lead marketing and business development initiatives, building brand and product suite awareness and work on new/enhanced product & pricing structures.
You will be an influencer, a proven builder and developer of relationships, both customer and professional (non-paid) introducers. You will be a self-starter, have enthusiasm and a can-do attitude to build trust with, and provide the right outcomes for, customers. You’ll feel at your best when visiting customers but also happy to provide remote support as needed. You’ll build depth of knowledge in our lending products, help prospects, existing customers and external stakeholders understand the benefits that working with DF Capital brings.
You’ll have an eye for opportunity and be eager to bring them to life alongside colleagues across the bank. You understand the value of teamwork and that collaboration can shape the bank’s success. You will be comfortable sharing your knowledge with colleagues to put our customers’ needs first. You’ll be an exponent of strong customer service and will look for ways to keep DF Capital ahead of its competitors.
You will need to be comfortable working with customers’ financial statements, forecasts and business plans to ensure that you understand their needs and that lending propositions fit the bank’s credit appetite. You’ll be equally comfortable working at pace, being a team player but also able to work autonomously. You will have strong communication and facilitation skills, whilst being comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the key components of commercial lending and what it takes to deliver great customer outcomes and strong customer advocacy. You’ll feel comfortable working with credit teams to deliver well thought out bespoke lending solutions for customers. Having a strong attention to detail, with proven ability to prioritise and excellent organisational skills are prerequisites.
THE ROLE, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Other duties may be assigned outside of the following duties and responsibilities:
· As part of the Structured Finance team, responsible for providing forecasts, developing and executing on the Structured Finance growth plan
· Responsible for origination of new business from a variety of sources including self-generated, marketing campaigns, external advisory introducers
· Grow existing customer relationships by providing excellent after-sales service and looking for ways to deepen DF Capital’s support for our customers
· Ensure that DF Capital is meeting its returns expectations on each relationship at origination and throughout a customer’s relationship with the bank
· Acting as thought leader internally and externally, look for ways to improve existing products and develop new ones to meet and exceed customer needs
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:
Experience:
Proven track record in commercial lending: Demonstrated experience originating, structuring, and managing lending solutions, ideally in Structured Finance or similar roles within financial services.
Customer relationship management: Extensive experience in building and managing customer relationships, including self-generated leads and developing ongoing relationships with professional introducers.
Product knowledge: Familiarity with lending products such as Stock Flow Finance, Invoice Finance, Wholesale Finance, and Short-Term Secured Business Loans, along with their application in diverse business scenarios (e.g., mergers, acquisitions, and asset purchases).
Financial acumen: Hands-on experience analysing customer financial statements, forecasts, and business plans to assess risk and align with credit appetite.
Marketing and business development: Experience shaping and leading initiatives to build product awareness and support business growth.
Collaboration with credit teams: Ability to work effectively with credit professionals to craft bespoke lending solutions while maintaining the bank’s risk appetite.
Performance delivery: Previous responsibility for contributing to or owning business targets, such as loan book growth, financial returns, or market share expansion.
