We eliminate polluting diesel generators by replacing them with renewable solutions
It is our mission to eliminate polluting fossil fuel fired electric generators with renewable energy solutions on construction sites where the local grid does not have the power to do so. The Neargrid Force & Boost are battery-based and containerised solutions developed to connect construction sites to the nearby distribution grid. Construction sites often need electric power that exceeds the capacity of the available electric distribution grid connection points. Tower cranes in particular require very high peak currents when a load is hoisted. This poses a problem that - until today - was solved by implementing a heavy diesel generator to deliver the peak currents. Neargrid places its systems between the distribution grid and the site consumers: an easy obtainable low-voltage residential connection is sufficient to charge the battery on a permanent basis. The battery/inverter then meets the fluctuating power demand from the construction site. The Neargrid Force can be used to supply up to 3 heavy tower cranes + other small equipment. The Neargrid Boost - the little brother - is also available for construction sites with just 1 tower crane installed. Furthermore, the battery system is fitted with a comprehensive energy monitoring system that gives a thorough insight in the energy consumption on site. The transition to a fully powered renewable energy system will lead to an even deeper electrification of energy uses: heat pumps, electric mobility, industrial processes, ... Will the electricity grid be able to follow the fast deployment of new electric applications? Most likely, many (temporary) bottlenecks in the electricity grid will appear. Hence, dedicated battery solutions will be needed to facilitate the deployment of new electric consumers in our journey towards a fully renewable energy system.
