The role:
We are looking for a motivated and highly capable individual to join our team as a Commercial Analyst. Working together with Sales & Marketing, the core purpose of the role will be to help define and support delivery of new initiatives that support and move forward the strategy for our SME business unit.
This role will look to lead on projects and activities and will taking ownership of and be the point of contact for commercial team and to Interact with stakeholders across the business to proactively identify opportunities for lead generation and work with operational teams to translate this into real opportunities.
Working in a team of four, this role is working with B2B SME customers across all commercial and public sectors.
Supported by the SME leadership team to build and maintain strong relationships across the whole business, the successful candidate will also benefit from a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
With coaching, support and an excellent support network it would be a great fit for an experienced analyst or commercial lead looking to accelerate their influence on the performance and growth of an ambitious and successful organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Lead on identified projects and activities for commercial – taking ownership of and being the point of contact for accountabilities within said projects
* Interact with stakeholders across the business to proactively identify opportunities for lead generation and work with operational teams to translate this into real opportunity
* Use data and insight combined with proactive engagement with our sales teams to analyse our SME customer portfolio
* Develop an understanding of the value of customers and risks / opportunities in translating the value potential into real positive financial performance that can be measured and quantified
* Act in a way that “constructively challenges” how we do things using a data-led approach but at the same time appreciating the strengths of our sales teams and business capability and utilising these
* Helping the business to adopt a data-led approach to decision making
Requirements and skills:
Required:
* Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, underpinned by technical competency (strong proficiency in Excel a minimum)
* An ability to see the big picture and a team player that recognises the importance of both collaboration and challenge in getting to the right result
* Evidence of commercial acumen in some regard; an understanding of how we can forecast and generate value and reduce risk and ability to quantify this and consolidate into clear recommendations
* Strong stakeholder management experience, with the ability to help direct and co-ordinate projects
* A team player that recognises the importance of both collaboration and challenge in getting to the right result
* Comfortable working within ambiguity and using collective knowledge of the business to make decisions efficiently, effectively and be able to measure the impact of them
Good to have:
* Experience in an analytical or commercially orientated role
* Advanced-to-expert level data interrogation, manipulation and presentation skills (e.g. use of SQL / Power Query / Power BI)

Based at the Kingswood Field office KT20 6RP (Tadworth), a 28-acre office campus site set in the Surrey countryside with Trail walks. You will enjoy a modern vibrant and friendly working environment.
