Ansdell Medical Centre is a busy, 12,000+ patient practice in lovely Lytham St Annes and we are looking for a fun, friendly and focused individual to join our Reception team on a temporary, full time basis, for a minimum of 12 months to cover Maternity Leave.
The successful candidate must be flexible as shift patterns may vary depending on the needs of the business. Our working hours are between 07:45 - 18:30 Monday to Friday. Experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given; however, a good sense of humour and common sense are a must!
You will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of Reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. You will act as the central point of contact for patients, distributing information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, and liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
2. Processing personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
3. Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller's request appropriately
4. Signposting patients to the correct service
5. Actioning incoming emails when necessary
6. Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members and external agencies
7. Reading code data on EMIS web
8. Photocopying documentation as required
9. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
10. Inputting data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary
11. Directing requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
12. Managing all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
13. Carrying out system searches as requested
14. Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
15. Monitoring and maintaining the reception area and notice boards
16. Supporting all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
