Operations Manager / Wind Farm Engineer
Salary: up to £55,000 + salaried bonus + benefits
Location: Northern Ireland + National Travel
Hours: Monday to Friday, no weekends

The Opportunity
Our client is a leading player in the renewable energy sector and is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join their team as Operation Managers or Windfarm Engineer. As a rapidly growing company with operations in Europe and Africa, our client is committed to the development, investment, construction, operation and maintenance of wind power, solar energy and other renewable energy projects.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the Irish Engineering and Operations team in managing the operational aspects of windfarm projects. Reporting to the Operations Lead, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of renewable energy in a dynamic and fast-paced industry. This is a home-based position with a competitive salary of up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor windfarm performance by tracking production levels, alarms and failures
* Implement technical solutions to optimise production and asset performance
* Ensure all windfarms meet operational and maintenance contractual obligations
* Manage contracts and agreements for assigned windfarms, ensuring compliance with all terms
* Initiate and manage claims against contractors or manufacturers when required
* Address contractual breaches and relevant matters through written communication including issuing letters
* Conduct safety inductions and manage contractors on site
* Deliver toolbox talks to maintain high safety standards
* Assess and mitigate on-site risks, ensuring strict compliance with the companies site safety standards
* Conduct regular HSE reviews and compliance checks
* Liaise with local stakeholders, landowners, residents and relevant authorities
* Procure and manage legal representation when necessary
* Report on legal or commercial implications to senior management and support the resolution of issues
* Complete detailed monthly reports on production, availability and outages for internal teams and stakeholders
* Manage meetings and reporting with contractors and stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate communication
* Maintain organised records of meetings, actions and follow-ups to ensure smooth operations
* Oversee competitive tendering processes, ensuring alignment with internal policies and standards
* Manage subcontractors from both a technical and commercial standpoint
* Lead projects to completion as required, ensuring deadlines are met and standards maintained
* Conduct regular site inspections, including work at height and turbine assessments
* Travel to companywide wind farm sites across Ireland and occasionally within Europe to support operational needs.

* Strong management capabilities with a deep understanding of site operations
* Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
* Proactive problem-solver, with a natural ability to address operational challenges and improve performance
* Ability to work well within a team, demonstrating a strong commitment to team success and continuous improvement
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field
* Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in renewable energy operations or the energy industry.
